Last week, German luxury brand Montblanc announced that actor Hugh Jackman, who has been a brand ambassador of international markets since 2014, will represent the brand in North America as well.
Jackman is only the last in a long and respected line of celebrities – mostly men – who have become “brand ambassadors” for watch and jewelry brands. Here are some of the A-listers chosen for the lucrative gig:
Tag Heuer: The newest Tag Heuer ambassador is NFL quarterback Tom Brady, who landed the deal in October 2014. Other Tag Heuer celebrity faces over the years included Brazilian racing driver Ayrton Senna, Cristiano Ronaldo, Tiger Woods, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Maria Sharapova and Uma Thurman, among many others.
Baume & Mercier: the Swiss watchmaking Maison Baume & Mercier chose Chinese actor, singer and fashion model Chen Kun as its new ambassador in December 2015. Other brand ambassadors over the years included Kim Basinger, Gary Sinese, Kiefer Sutherland and Meg Ryan.
Raymond Weil: Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil chose Katheryn Winnick, the leading star of the hit series Vikings, as its ambassador in October 2015. Charlize Theron represented the brand in past campaigns. .
Omega has an impressive array of brand ambassadors, including George Clooney, Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig.
Longines: the Swiss Watchmaking company lists Andre Agassi, Kate Winslet, Simon Baker and Stefanie Graf among its brand ambassadors.
