Avi Paz has been named the successor to presidency of the World Diamond Council and will officially take office once founding president Eli Izhakoff steps down next month. Paz, honorary World Federation of Diamond Bourses president and Honorary Israel Diamond Exchange president, has also served on the WDC board for many years.
Upon the announcement of his appointment at the World Diamond Council meeting in Tel Aviv this week, Paz heaped praise on Izhakoff for co-creating this important regulatory body of the diamond trade, when no other organization of its kind had previously existed. Paz affirmed that Izhakoff will continue to play an important role in the group’s leadership.
Looking forward, Paz called upon the assembled WDC members to work together as one in order to defend the diamond industry, and to remain attentive to the winds of change and to show flexibility.
